Friends of the Easton Public Library

Library Giving Day 2024 is Wednesday April 3rd.
The Friends of the Easton Public Library invites you to join people across the nation
as they support their local libraries with tax-deductible donations.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We love our librarians so in celebration six of our members baked cookies and we brought them to our librarians today.  Happy Valentine's Day to all of the library staff who help us find the books that inform and entertain us throughout  the year.

Thank you thank you for participating in the Friends of the Easton Public Library Gingerbread Contest! All of your houses were beautiful and creative and library patrons loved viewing and voting on them the past couple of weeks.

The winners of the competition are:

1.) Ages 5-10 Best in Show: Jessica and Elliot Stoller

2.) Most Traditional: Moose Lodge by Jill & Elizabeth Kimball

3.) Most Creative: Eras Houses by Rani & Saira Menoin

The next meeting of the Friends will be for planning Giving Day fund raising.  This will be at 7pm Wednesday March 13, 2024 at the library.  Please come if you would like to help plan for this event.

The next quarterly is scheduled for April 24th at 7pm.

Our book sale was a success!

Thanks to our members, volunteers, neighbors and other book lovers for coming to our book sale despite the weather.  We raised almost $6000 despite terrible weather Friday and only slight improvement in the weather on Saturday.

Thank you for your giving day donations

What is The Friends of the Easton Public Library?

The Friends of the Easton Public Library is a 501(c)(3) organization made up of local volunteers and members who raise money to help support the library.

Past fundraisers have included participating in the nationwide Library Giving Day in early April; hosting a wine and cheese gathering to kick off the summer with Eastonites old and new; running a fabulous used book sale; and hosting a holiday craft fair and tree lighting in early December.  More events are in the works!

Recent events have already raised more than $13.5K to support the library for 2022:   in April we raised nearly $4500 as part of the National Library Giving Day campaign, and in June we raised $2K more, as part of our Winetasting fundraiser.  Our book sale garnered $6000. Thank you to the generosity of our wonderful library lovers from all across the town. We are grateful.

All these provide financial support to the library beyond what is allocated in the town's annual budget. In the past year the Friends have given money to support the refurbishment of the patio at the library for community gatherings and fun activities for library patrons, the Summer Reading Program for adults and children alike, the One Book One Town initiative, and the purchase of museum passes for everyone in town to use.

Sign up to be a volunteer! We'd love to have you help us - with ideas, with an hour here or there of volunteer time, or by serving on our planning committee. All are welcome! Click on the volunteer box below, or contact us at friends@eastonlibrary.org.

Our general membership group meets quarterly; we'd love for folks to join us. We'll be cooking up fundraising ideas for this year and next! Your input would be appreciated!  Contact us at friends@eastonlibrary.org
